My web browser will not load. I can see my wireless network which says I am connected.?
Answers:
Make sure your router (if you're using one) is setup for wireless. My linksys has a checkbox to enable wireless.
Make sure your router is issuing an IP address to your computer. Check DHCP on your router and see what's been issued what. You may need to refresh the DHCP tables.
So, it sounds like you're not getting an IP address. Or perhaps your router's IP address needs to be refreshed. Unplug it for about 30 seconds, then replug it. Unplug your modem (DSL/Cable) for about 30 seconds. Your ISP will reissue the IP address...
Hope it helps!
The other day, I had this problem. I was using BitLord (a torrent client) and I did not realize it was uploading. I could not figure out while wireless wasn't working, I turned every 2.4 gHz device in the house off and pulled the batteries. Still didn't work. Then it looked at BitLord, it was uploading, and consuming ALL of my bandwidth. No wonder it wasn't working.
Make sure you aren't running a file sharing client. Also, check to see if DNS is working, because despite being unable to get online I was able to ping yahoo.com.
Have you tried Netscape?
Sometimes the wireless networks ays you're connected when you're not.. that has happened to me a few times. Try restarting your wireless connection.
I have that issue as well. I can see my Linksys but no service. I reset everything. If not it has to be the service provider. Try to reset it or call them up.
Resetting it always works for me.
