Annoying Internet explorer keeps poping up while on Firefox how can i get rid of it.?

I am using XP and there are 3 other users my wife and 2 boys that also use it.It happed about 2 or 3 days ago when i came home from work and signed on.
I found some new icons in my task bar also some new short cuts on my desk top.Right away i knew it was junk and tried to get rid of them. They are both some anti-virus programs that are just trial versons that say my PC is infected with about 27 virus
.
So i have Norton pro 07 and i run a scan and it come up clean,i also run Ad-Aware SE pro and it finds and deleats some infected programs. But i still have these icons in my task bar,so i go to start and look for the programs so i can deleate them and they are not there.

So i go to control panel and go to change program and it's not on there. So i try to right click the icon no luck, then i open the program and look for the uninstall and it not there can some one please help me?

Also my internet explorer will interupt my Firefox with these annoying popup adds and i have a pop up blocker.

Answers:
Try a online antivirus scanner and a online anti-adware/malware/spyware scanner in safe mode with network to clean up your computer BEFORE you download anything. This because the program you download can get infected.
To reformat your hdd is always the last option.

Disable "System Restore" for Windows Me and XP, then restart your PC to clean your system restore points for viruses, spyware, adware etc.

Now restart in safe mode.
To get in safe mode Press "F8" upon boot up.
Select "Safe mode with Networking".
Go to Start – Run - type iexplore http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html... Enter(ok).
Do a full system scan. If something is found, delete it, reboot and do the same again in safe mode with network.
When that scan does not find anything you reboot again in safe mode with network.
Go to Start – Run – type iexplore http://www.ewido.net/en/ Enter(ok).
Do a full system scan. If something is found, delete it, reboot and do the same again in safe mode with network.

**NOTE: Do NOT do anything else with your computer when scanning. This because you can start virus/adware/spyware/malware manually.

When no one of these scanners are showing anything you can reboot back to normal mode.
Turn on "System Restore".

Can you use Firefox as your default ?
Look on Ur browser and see if some widgets or add-ons have been enabled. Somebody has been playing with the fox.
very clearly it's spyware... run a spyware scan. I recommend Ad-aware SE and Spybot. They're both free.
delete norton. get rid of it. go here http://www.eset.com/ and download the 30 day trial of nod32. it will kill EVERYTHING. After the trial is over, either buy it, or go to http:/www.free.grisoft.com and get AVG free edition, or go to http://www.avast.com/ and get avast, which is also free. both of them are better than norton. Keep running Ad-aware. also run Spybot search and destroy. which can be found here http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index...
your pc is infected and needs a good cleaning.
most virus are spread through IE. IE is not a safe browser.

you should use a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus. i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar.

firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser.

as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage.

besides, firefox is much smaller than IE, so it run faster than IE. download firefox for free, Just have a try:

Good Luck !
Do NOT download and install any more anti-virus programs unless you completely un-install your current anti-virus program.

The use of 2 anti-virus programs at the same time can cause major conflicts. The 2 scanning engines will fight each other to scan every file that you read, write or execute which can cause a slowdown. For the same reason, using 2 A-Vs can cause you to have less protection from the various malware, not more.

(Using an anti-spyware with an anti-virus is good, however and is recommended)

A much better solution is the use of on-line scanners.

Run both of these on-line scans. Both are free and excellent at detecting and removing malware free of charge. There is no need to un-install your current protections before using these.

1. Scan for virus, worms, dialers, etc. and remove (free online scan, no downloaded program) with BitDefender's Online Scanner
http://www.bitdefender.com/

2. Scan for trojans, adware, cookies, and spyware and remove (free online scan, no downloaded program) with Ewido Online Scanner ( now known as AVG Anti-Spyware). This is NOT the same as AVG Anti-Virus.
http://www.ewido.net/en/

These scans will take quite a bit of time. The time is necessary to clean-up an infected computer.

Good luck.
