Why does IE keep encountering a problem and needing to close? Is it settings or bugs?

I'm sure you have heard this before, but
...try Firefox. It will import all your favorites from IE.
And it won't uninstall IE or anything, so you can still use IE.

It could be your add-ons. Click on tools>add-ons and disable them and see if you still have this problem. If not then turn them back on one by one until the problem occurs again. The last one you turned on is the one causing the problem so keep it disabled.

It is most likely either sypware o a 'plug in' (now called by Micro$oft an 'Add-On'.)
Do a spyware scan (loads of free programs do this - if you have a real copy (ie not a pirate) of Windows, try Windows Defender.)
Also go to Tools > Manage Add-Ons > Add or Disable Add-Ons and check there is nothing you don't expect.
