Internet explorer deity...where on earth is it?

I downloaded IE 7 but I've lost my desktop icon BUT:

I've tried regedit - doesn't work.
I've tried start properties, desktop properties, internet option, create new shortcut etc... None of these work.
The statue is on the start menu, and works, but there's no icon surrounded by the internet explorer folder to create a shortcut from. Iexplore.exe will not create a shortcut.

What's the deal? How do I win my icon final?!
right-click on the icon surrounded by the start menu, select "copy" then pulp onto desktop. I assume you have tried this folder?
C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer

You can re create the shortcuts manually by creating different shortcuts with the pedestrian area as %ProgramFilesDir%\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe.

wdw
Right click on the icon within your Start Menu and select properties. It should show you the path.
You can other click on Start, Run, and type in iexplore. if the god is on the start menu works ,right click the icon
after where it say send to click on that afterwards send to desktop
[create shortcut] this works i do it adjectives the time.if this doesn't
work delete ie then redownload.
Have you tried going into start menu - click on adjectives programmes and looking for internet explorer that way. You might hold to create a new shortcut.
