"save changes" behaviour in internet explorer / firefox?



               
Hey all, i was wondering, is it possibly to implement some kind of event in a web page that contains a big form that is thrown when a browser closes window or navigates away from page that prompts to save changes (if they have made any) to that form?

Basically, in order to submit their changes they are meant to use the submit button on the actual form but my target audience are muppets and they may make changes and not click the submit button.
Yes you can, you have to implement it with Javascript, it would require that a capture event be placed on the ways to close the browser and an error message to pop up. You should be able to find something to get you started at:
