Ok, so my major computer that is hooked up physically to my router is not connecting next to the internet. It's OS is Vista. The minute I try to, the computer goes to a white peak and then locks up next to "connecting" written on top. It then runs really really slowly. It won't ever hook up to the internet and it won't close out any. I know that the router is fine because like I said, my laptop near a wireless connection is working fine. My computer works fine if I don't touch the Internet explorer button but once that is to say hit, the thing go slow as molasses. What is up? What can I do to fix it? I really really don't want to dump the whole system and start from cut into (that is what my husband wants to do) because it take so darn long to reload all of our stuff. Thanks so much to anyone who know about this stuff!
I have a similar problem when I deleted the Spyware Doctor program. For some plea deleting SD also delete the address codes in my computer that told it how & where on earth to log on to the Internet, even though my wife's computer logged on just fine. I spent 90 minutes on the phone beside a very nice fellow from India who eventually be able to diagnose & solve my problem, which involved researching my wife's computer, our router, and entering dozens of numbers into a variety of places on my computer until it finally worked right.
