Internet explorer problem?

I had this problem the last time I reformatted my computer. When I type in a URL in the adress bar, I must type http://yahoo.com. I cannot type yahoo.com or www.yahoo.com. I'm just using Yahoo as an example, it is like this with all websites.

It will not even attempt to load a page without the http:// part which is quite annoying. As I mentioned, I had this problem before (almost a year ago), and I can't remember what I did to fix it. I played with all my security options, but nothing I tried work.

Any help on how to fix this would be wonderful!

hi, why not ditch Explorer for Firefox, it is free, uses less resourses, has a popup stopper and it's much safer, also it won't mess with your current explorer setup:
http://www.sleekbytes.com/picasa-google.
if it helps please remember me cheers and thanks for the 2 points!
