How do I re-link Internet Explorer and Adobe Acrobat?

I'm running Adobe Acrobat 6 and IE 7. They have been working fine together. At some point some weeks ago I installed something that automatically installed Adobe Acrobat READER 8. (Doncha can`t stand it when they don't mention that during the install and let you opt out?) I haven't have a lot of time since to work on the problem, and I can't even remember that that install be.

Anyway, not needing Reader, I uninstalled it, and since later, Acrobat doesn't run as a plug in within IE even though it's listed. I took the step of uninstalling and reinstalling Acrobat, but that didn't serve. Any ideas?

Answers:    You should be capable of restore the acrobat 6 i.e. plugin by using the "repair" route in the gymnast entry in the add/remove programs menu.

To repair the Acrobat product, you must hold access to the installation media or to the net path from which you originally installed the product.

1. Choose Start > Control Panel > Add Or Remove Programs.

2. Select the Acrobat product, and consequently click Change/Repair (Windows XP) or Change/Remove (Windows 2000).

3. In the Setup dialog box, click Next.

4. Select Repair, and then Click Next.

5. Click Update.

6. When the process is complete, click Finish.
From IE > Tools > Manage Add-ons
