"Why do I get a window opening that says "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close."?
Answers:
Hello there,
Sorry to hear that you are having troubles with your
computer.
I will try to give you some ideas on what you can do
in order to help keep your system clean from parasites.
It sounds like you are infected with spyware/adware/malware...
Try these, use EACH ONE
Anti - Spyware Scanners
There are several Anti-Spyware Scanners out
there and some can be mis-leading and some are
what are called Rogue Anti-Spyware Programs.
Most of the time, users, don't know which ones
are good and which ones are bad.
Most of these that are bad usually charge or try
to get the user to pay for that product. Also,
some of these products will show a screen (nag)
to the user when their machine is booted up and
on the desktop.
For a list of these Rogue Anti-Spyware products,
you can go here as they try to keep up on all the
Rogue Software that is on the market place.

Also a good place to go and do some testing of your
own and find what you think is a good program for
you and what you read.

The get rid of Panda or shut it off and reboot and use one of these.
Anti - Virus :
Anti-Virus' are a personal preference type.
You know what you want it to do and when, so you
want to look for what you want the AV to do specifically.
Some people like using FREE AV's which are okay for
the price, which they're some good AV's out there
that are free, some are bad as well.
I guess it comes down to what program that you like
the best and which one has the most pretty colors
that entertain your eyes.
AVAST
"Free antivirus - avast! 4 Home Edition
avast! 4 Home Edition is a full-featured antivirus
package designed exclusively for home users and
non-commercial use. The company offers the Home
Edition free of charge, since, in our opinion, it
is possible to avoid global virus spreading by
efficient prevention; however, many users are not
able to or do not want to pay for antivirus software.
This page below will show you the most important
features of this program".

AVG
Is Free and is the more popular for those that need
something that can scan their computer at that time.
However, it uses resources like Norton and McAfee and
some others.
Norton
Is NOT FREE although they've been out for decades and
have a Trial Version. Also to remove their AV software,
you have to have their removal tool to remove it all
the way. Some newer systems have Norton installed
and every time that you uninstall it and reboot, it
wants to reinstall. Here is the link to remove
Norton:

McAfee
Is NOT FREE although they have been out for decades
and have a Trial Version
i'll just take a wild guess... but maybe u get that message because internet explorer is encoutering a problem and needs to close.
It's b/c IE is a terrible browser and is full of problems. Download Firefox instead and it will make your life so much easier.
i have the same problem
its some kind of system error, but take it from me IE is a junk program to start with, get firefox at www.mozilla.com
*you may have to download it on a friends computer and transfer via disk or flash drive if IE keep shutting down during download
IE sucks get Mozilla FireFox
IE has lots of problems , and has a bad browser
Well it could be having an error for a number of reasons. The most likely is a virus.
If that message is coming up that frequently, it means that something is wrong. Does this happen regardless of which sites you visit? If IE only crashes when you are on certain websites, there is probably something wrong with the sites. There's not much you can do about it.
If it happens all the time, there's probably something wrong with your computer. Run your virus scan. Run an spyware scan. Defragment your hard drive.
If none of those actions help, you may need to bring your computer in to the manufacturer to be fixed.
Try reinstalling IE 7. Alternatively, check whether you are using the latest version of IE 7 from the Microsoft website. Do you have any other applications launched when you use IE? Sometimes your start up programs may also interfere with the functioning of IE.
If all these fail, you can either choose to use another browser (will recommend FireFox) or install IE 6, which is more stable, but which does not have the tab feature unfortunately.
I disagree with bevangel517. IE is a pretty good browser. XP is load of [insert epithet of your choice]. Just thank the shade of VonNumen that you don't have Vista.
for this error, if you remember when it was working last try a system restore, Start >>All programs>>Accesories>>System Tools>>system restore>> and choose a date that you know the system was working, or internet explorer, this will take a few minutes so be patient, when its done try and open see if it worked, if it doesnt work, Reset Internet Explorer, go into tools>>internet options>>advanced TAB>> then the reset button at bottom, this should work, hope this helps, john
UNISTALL EXPLORE AND REINSTALL THERE MIGHT BE SOME MISSING FILES OR COMPONETS THAT WOULD MAKE INTERNET EXPLORE SHUT DOWN
lol nice one brook babe!!! im sry! but know one can help u on that one! find a internet professional and ask them cuz this is a hard thing to figure out!
I would definitely run some spyware and virus checks. Behavior of this type can be caused by malware running on your machine. Malware (spyware, trojans, viruses) have become very sophisticated and will mess with the registry, memory, etc. Things like this can cause problems. You should also evaluate if you have installed any new software or hardware that might have installed a new file that would be conflicting with IE. Don't get me wrong though, I hate windows and think that Firefox is good. You can also try Sea Monkey.
Oh dear, I have a Sony VAIO an I can tell you that YOU HAVE A VIRUS. My brother actually just did a total restore on my computer, because I had this happen. What you can do is stop getting on the net, because you are only making it worse. Then, call your computer company, and tell them that you need step by step help, doing a System Restore, on your computer. I do know that you can do it in safe mode, an therefor, you will not have to copy all your documents such as Music an Photos. Otherwise, when you do a total system restore, make sure that you do put all your pics an music on discs because the restore will be just like making your computer brand new again. Norton ANTI virus is THE BEST virus protection out there. Its great. You cant really mess around with all the cheap crap. My Brother works on this stuff in the military, so I have learned quite a bit. A couple other tips is, ANYTIME that you download anything new, always restart your computer. And second, any music downloading program is VERY VERY risky. Even with virus protection. So, try these things. See if it helps. GOOD LUCK DEAR! :D
