"The page cannot be displayed" in Microsoft IE 6?

Get this error all the time now. I type a URL and get this message. I have to retype URL or refresh several times to get page to load. Did not get this error before. Happens with any page even ones I have been to in the last day. Althought the error seems less with a page I have opened already. Also seems worse when I directly type URL without "www" such as google.com instead of www.google.com. I have not seen any patterns. Does get better and worse at different times. I have tried shutting down all virus software to see if that helps but does not. Page will always eventually come up if I refresh several times. Ran "diagnose connection" in tools and it says the connection is fine. I have cable service through Charter. My download speeds are very slow, 385Kbps. They should be 5Mbps. Use Vonage through Linksys router. Also have wireless Linksys router. I have ran all the Spyware scans and adware scans. Please help.

Answers:
have you checked your connection manually?maybe the wire is loose or something and it keeps getting wiggled. or maybe the wireless transmitter (or whatever it is) is slightly messed up to where the system doesnt notice but its still messed up or maybe the internet providers are having difficulties with the connections, try asking other people who have the same internet provider if they are having difficulties too. hope this solves your problem!
