After opening internet explorer, How do I get to type in a web site and go. Mine is a search engine?



               
Normally when you open internet explorer your first web page has this box that lets you type in a web site. The first page that is opening up to me is yahoos search engine. It wont let me go straight to a web site.

Yahoo hijacked your home page. Isn't there a loooong wihte window at the top (address bar)? You should be able to type your web address in there.

To see if Yahoo got ya', click tools on the menu bar, and in the first window, it will show what the home page. If you want a different one, find it on the net, then go back to tools, and click on "use current".

JT, MS-Explorer v7 (LOVE IT!) took the address bar option away. :(

it sounds like you either need to change your home page or enable your navigation toolbar(grey bit at the top that holds the address box for typing).

navigation toolbar: rightclick at the top and make sure 'address bar' is selected.

homepage: tools - internet options - homepage(address box)
Oh you want to type in a web address and go directly there...right?

In internet explorer goto View > Toolbars > Address bar.

The tool bar may be lock so goto View > Toolbars > Lock Toolbar, which if it is checked, will be unchecked when you click on it.
