About blank window opens up when i close any window of internet explorer.?
1. when i close any internet explorer window by X, it closes but another about blank window opens. Generally I m not able to close it by X. either i have to use ctrl+alt+del or shut down.
2. Many times when I open any explorer window by clicking any link, it opens but hang.
I understand that this is happening due to some spyware. I have run symantec anti virus, some times it detects trojan and remove it but the problem still exists.
I want to know the following.
1. How can i remove this problem.
2. What are the harms, which might have already been made by this spyware?

Anti-virus is NOT anti-spyware. You don't have spyware anyway. You have adware. The window opening probably says "About:Blank" doesn't it?
Get Adaware SE (free version) ad SpyBot S&D (free version) and then install them. Run first one (either) and then the other. This will solve your problem.
Well, click start, then run and then type in the command 'msconfig'
Find the little sneaker and disable at startup. Some of these programs won't allow to be removed when they are running, so you need to stop it and then delete the files.
The hard depends on what the program was intended to do. If it was a simple spyware, it could have passed your web history and account data to some server. It also could have put your computer into a zombie, and they actually are controlling processes and using your computer to do bad things. Other times they just did this to piss you off.
So, disconnect from internet, run the commands and try to remove.
Oh, and to prevent this in the future. Learn linux. =)
about:blank windows are usually indicative of coolwebsearch. Use a program called CWShredder that is made specifically for coolwebsearch in addition to AdAware.
