How do I uninstall Internet Explorer 7?
Answers:
If your computer had IE6 on it before you installed IE7, you do **not** have to reinstall IE6 after you uninstall IE7. Your system will automatically roll itself back to IE6.
Your IE6 installer is saying it's unable to continue because IE6 is **already** on the computer. Reboot the machine and see if it behaves any better.
If you still have problems trying to **run** IE6, then use your Windows setup CDs to do a "dirty" re-install. After that, install the IE6 security updates post-haste.
you cant uninstall IE6
if you had ie7 and uninstalled it, then you have ie6 already. there is nothing to install
Did u do a restart after u uninstalled ie7? May be some stuff are in ram and interfering.
There might be some registry entry for IE7
Goto the registry editor (type regedit in RUN under Start Button)
Press Ctrl+F
Type IE7 , to search it
Remove all occurance of IE7
i think the version of ie you trying to install is earlier than one you have or some features updated with ie7 are permanent
the only way to make ie6 work again is formatt the windows drive and reinstalling winxp or if formatting is a tough job for you then try using annother browser maybe firefox
Click on "Start->Run" then type:
C:\WINDOWS\ie7\spuninst\spunin... /quiet /forcerestart /log:C:\ie7uninstall.txt
IEAnswers.com replaces what I wrote: "spuninst.exe /quiet" with "spunin. /quiet", so type the full name of the .exe file.
After some time it will ask to reboot.
Do you have Windows 2000? ME? XP? Vista?
Vista cannot uninstall IE7. XP cannot uninstall IE6.
go to start, then to "set program access and default" when the window opens click add or remove programs... if it's not there try to find it on your internet settings
most computers wont operate if they aren't completely up to date sorry.
